The Government of India has allowed certain categories of overseas Indians (OCI) card holders stranded abroad to travel to India. These consisted of overseas Indian citizens born minor child who are OCI card. Also those who want to go in a family emergency or university students who want to go home, who are OCI card holders, but their parents are Indian citizens will also be able to go home.
The announcement was made by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday and will be brought back under Phase III of the Vande Bharat Mission. The second phase, which began on May 16, brought back about 32,000 civilians in more than 160 flights from 47 countries. The Home Ministry order partially resolves hundreds of thousands of people. His visa was suspended following a ban on international travel in the wake of the Corona virus outbreak.
As per the order, it has now been decided to allow the following categories of expatriate citizens of Indian card holders stranded abroad.
1) Foreign born and young children of Indian citizens who have OCI card.
2) OCI cardholders who want to come to India due to emergency family, death in the family.
3) Couples where one spouse is an OCI cardholder and the other is an Indian citizen and has a permanent residence in India.
4) University students who are OCI card holders.
