Self-styled godman Dati Maharaj, accused of raping two minor girls, has once again come into the limelight. This time Dati Maharaj is seen worshiping along with some people at the Shani Dham temple in Asola village in South Delhi, in violation of the lockdown rules and guidelines implemented to prevent the spread of corona virus.
Swayambhu Dharmaguru along with some people, including old men and children, were seen worshiping in the temple on the occasion of ‘Shani Jayanti’. The matter came to light after the video of the incident went viral on social media.
In one video, some elders, children and women were seen worshiping in the temple amid lockdown, violating all rules of social distancing. It can be clearly seen in the video that during this time people were not even wearing masks. However, IANS does not confirm the veracity of this viral video.

As soon as this case was District Magistrate (South) B.M. Mishra came to the notice, he directed Atul Thakur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of South Delhi to start an investigation into the case.
At the same time, Delhi Police said that after getting information about this, investigation has started on the allegations against Daati Maharaj. It is alleged that Shani Dham temple was opened in Mehrauli on Friday and many people went inside. The District Magistrate (South) has also asked the police to investigate the incident and take action.
It may be noted that earlier in March this year, the Delhi High Court had asked Dati Maharaj and others to file their reply to the CBI petition seeking cancellation of anticipatory bail in a rape case.
Dati Maharaj was granted bail by a trial court in January. On August 26, Justice Chandra Shekhar issued a notice to Dharmaguru and his three associates, listing the case for the next hearing of the case.
Daati Maharaj aka Daati Madan Lal Rajasthani, Ashok, Arjun and Anil have been named in a CBI FIR for raping a 25-year-old woman and having unnatural sex with the victim at her ashram in Fatehpur Beri on 9 January 2016.
In June 2018, the Delhi Police had filed a case on the complaint of the Delhi victim and later filed a charge sheet against Dati Maharaj and others.
