Corona records 2940 new cases in Maharashtra, total number of patients crossed 44000; 1517 deaths so far

Latur has 73 infected

Dr. Vijay Chincholkar, head of the Institute of Virology at Vilasrao Deshmukh Government Medical Institute, said that a person has been found infected in the labor colony here, which came from Bidar in the neighboring state of Karnataka. Death toll in Amravati rises to 14
A 30-year-old man infected with the corona virus died on Friday morning in Amravati, Maharashtra. With this, the number of people who died of corona virus in the district increased to 14. Health officials gave this information here. An official said the victim was admitted to the hospital on May 15 and was on ventilator for the last five days. “The victim was a resident of Patipura area where four cases have been reported and two people have died,” civil surgeon Shyamsunder Nikam told PTI. There have also been two new cases in Amravati due to which the number of infected people has increased to 141 here.

Kovid-19’s havoc on policemen
The corona warrior broke into a havoc in the last 48 hours for the Maharashtra Police and 288 force personnel were hit by it while four more died. According to the information given by the Maharashtra Police on Friday, a total of 1666 personnel of the force have been hit by Corona and 16 have died. There are 680 cases of quarantine violations except Mumbai. 247 cases of police force attack and 823 people have been arrested.

Pune hospital to use new drug for Kovid-19 treatment
Meanwhile, at least 25 patients of Kovid-19, admitted to the Government Sassoon Sarvochar Hospital in Pune, will be given Tosilizumab medicine, which has proved effective in the treatment of infection. An official gave this information on Friday. This medicine will be given to patients whose condition is delicate but stable. Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shekhar Gaikwad said that the cost of this new drug (injection) is about Rs 20,000. It will be given to 25 patients in the first phase and based on its results, the Pune Municipal Corporation will decide on its further use.
