Airlines have made full preparations for domestic flight services starting Monday amid a lockdown imposed to deal with the Corona virus. The crew members will be provided with personal protective equipment like ‘face shield’, ‘gown’ for the safe operation of the flights, while the aircraft will be thoroughly cleaned every 24 hours.
Vistara (airlines) said on Friday that it would operate fewer aircraft for the next few weeks for 24 cities in the country. She said that all crew members must wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including a ‘mask,’ face shield, ‘gown at all times.
Vistara said in a statement, “The aircraft will be transition free after every flight and the aircraft will be thoroughly cleaned every 24 hours. Apart from GoAir, all Indian airlines have started booking tickets for domestic flights starting from 25 May.

Air Asia India said that sufficient quantities of PPE such as ‘face masks and’ sanitizers would be provided to the pilots to maintain their safety and hygiene. She said in a statement, ‘Our well trained crew members will work with adequate PPE including’ masks, ‘face shields,’ gowns and gloves and they are also trained to deal with any medical condition on the plane is.’
The Modi government had earlier this week announced the commencement of domestic flights in a gradual manner from May 25. Commercial domestic and international flights have been suspended since March 25 due to a lockdown to combat the corona virus in the country.
